New York City animal activists visited the offices of Fortress Investment Group to protest Fortress’ massive funding of the animal death torture lab Huntingdon Life Sciences. Voices raised, and despite massive police repression, the activists made their presence known and brought to attention to hundreds of people the bloody ties Fortress has to Huntingdon Life Sciences. Without the bailout loans that Fortress has provided to Huntingdon Life Sciences, HLS wouldn’t be able to continue torturing and murdering animals. Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) is a contract animal testing death lab that kills 500 animals a day for product testing. For example: 12800 animals died to test Splenda, including infant monkeys and pregnant rabbits. They endured repeated poisoning with the sucralose at high levels: over and over and over they had this chemical pumped into them – until they died or the lab “technician” killed them – all to put an unhealthy sugarfree coffee sweetener on the market.
